Meet Our Pastors
Senior Pastor, Rev. Sarah J. Stumme
It is a privilege to share in the ministry of Our Savior’s. My primary calling is to encourage and assist people in identifying how God is active in our lives and equipping us to serve in the mission field - to brighten our corner of the world with the light of Christ. I am passionate about evangelism and sharing the Good News of Christ. I resonate with Our Savior’s commitment to whole life discipleship (youth and family to adults). I give thanks for how Our Savior’s activity reflects Jesus’ love in the community and for the many ways the Holy Spirit is working through and among us as followers and disciples of Christ. My husband, Rev. John Berg, and I are both Midwesterners. John graduated from Grafton, and I grew up in Postville, Iowa. We met at the Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago and began parish ministry in Pennsylvania. We have two adult daughters, Sydney and Lydia. A schnoodle named Brewer completes our family.
I am confident of this, that the one who began a good work among you
will bring it to completion by the day of Jesus Christ. – Philippians 1:6
Associate Pastor, Rev. John Berg
What a joy it is to live and work among God’s people in this place. After serving in Pennsylvania and Illinois, it is great to be back in my home state again. I am a graduate of Grafton High School, Gustavus Adolphus College and the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve with my spouse, Pastor Sarah. I bring with me a passion for serving and for being formed and shaped by God’s Word. My prayer is that our eyes and hearts would be open each day to the gift of God’s grace and the invitation to join in God’s work as we care for our community and welcome our neighbors.
The Lord God has told you, O mortal, what is good,
and what does the Lord require of you
but to do justice and to love kindness
and to walk humbly with your God. -Micah 6:8
